Use of Theatrical Threads website
Use of our website is at your own risk. Theatrical Threads is not liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from your use of the website and payment facility for our hire costumes.
This includes viruses that may infect your computer equipment.

All images within this website remain the property of Theatrical Threads at all times. All rights are reserved.
We may include links on our website to other companies' websites.
Theatrical Threads is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of those sites, nor can be held responsible for any activity that may arise during your visit to their website.
Personal Financial Information
We do not store, nor do we intend to store, any financial details (credit or debit card details) relating to our customers on our website.
We attempt to include accurate and relevant information on the website at all times, but cannot accept responsibility for any errors or omissions that may appear from time to time.
Theatrical Threads makes every effort to supply the goods as advertised but reserves the right to supply the goods subject to minor variations if necessary after previous hires.
All items hired from us remain the property of Theatrical Threads Ltd whilst in transit and during the hire period
Theatrical Threads reserves the right to cancel hire agreements. We may not accept your order if we suspect fraudulent activity or violation of our Terms and Conditions
Reservations can be made on hire costumes up to one calendar year in advance. Reservations will be subject to an agreed deposit fee with Theatrical Threads.
The reservation deposit will be returned once the hire has paid the full insurance deposit and hire fee for the costume.
In the event that the hire does not proceed, the reservation deposit will be non refundable
Any prepaid hire fees will be refunded in full, unless the cancellation is within 48 hours of dispatch.
A cancellation fee of £10.00 per costume will be charged for the cancellation of any order up to 48 hours prior to collection or dispatch once the order has been processed and full hire payment and insurance deposit received.
Cancellations within 48 hours of the dispatch time/date will be subject to the full hire fee.
The insurance deposit will be refunded in full
Payment for the hire of costumes must be made by Paypal once availability has been confirmed, or by cheque or cash on collection. Hires which are being sent by post or courier will not be dispatched under any circumstances until either cleared funds are received for both the hire fee and deposit, or, a Purchase Order account has been created prior to the hire request.
VAT on Hire Invoices
VAT will be applied to each invoice at the standard rate at the time of invoicing. Individual listings for hire garments do NOT include VAT
Hire Deposit for Insurance against Loss or Damage
A separate payment in addition to the hire fee will be taken from the customer as an insurance against loss or damage to our costumes.
This deposit will be returned in full as soon as the hire costume is safely back with us and has been checked for damage.
Theatrical Threads does not accept responsibility for any shortfall in the insurance deposit as a result of payments being returned to customers through online banking facilities which charge for the receipt of funds.
Please be aware that refunds of Insurance Deposits can take up to 30 days to clear depending on the original payment method used by the customer.
We recommend that customers transfer funds into their Paypal account prior to paying for a Hire Deposit through Paypal, rather than paying directly from a Credit Card, if time allows.
All costume hires will be dispatched using a service agreeable to the hirer which encompasses the necessity for a signature on delivery.
Costume hires may also be collected from our premises in near Slough in East Berkshire.
Any delivery timescales quoted to you are an estimate only. We do not accept any liability for delayed delivery / loss / damage of the items caused by any third party.
If there is an unforeseen delay on your order, you will be contacted directly.
We obtain a Certificate of Posting for every item which we send as proof that it has been dispatched
While we make every effort to prevent shipping damage sometimes it can occur. Please do not sign for merchandise until you have inspected for damage.
If you have already signed for the merchandise please retain the original shipping box and contact us immediately
All hire costume must be returned to Theatrical Threads on the agreed date and by a trackable service
. We are usually able to offer a very reduced returns rate via our carriers as long as the parcel has been sent to the hirer though them.
If return shipping has not been agreed at the time of hire, the return shipping fee to Theatrical Threads is the responsibility of the customer.
Late returns will be charged at 50% of the hire rate for every 3 days which the costume remains unreturned
If after 14 days the costume has not been returned, it will be considered lost.
The customer will be required to pay for the value of the costume to be replaced, in full, making good any shortfall on the insurance deposit which has been paid.
In the event that a costume is booked for a hire which cannot be accommodated due to a late return or lost costume, the customer who has not returned or lost the costume will be responsible for the replacement hire cost to the forthcoming customer, should Theatrical Threads not be able to provide a suitable alternative to accommodate the customer.
All details regarding our costumes are considered accurate and are reported in good faith at the time of publishing their details on this website.
If a customer finds that a costume has been grossly mis-described, please contact us directly.
All hire costumes must be returned in the condition which they were hired in, with the exception of cleaning
All of our costume measurements are completed in good faith that they are an honest representation of the costume size. All garments are "flat measured"
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the wearers measurements supplied to Theatrical Threads are accurate. Theatrical Threads will not accept responsibility for garments which are dispatched and are deemed unfit for purpose. No refund of hire fee will be made.
No alterations of any descriptions should be made to any of our hire costumes without written permission from Theatrical Threads
Alterations made without permission will be considered as damage and repair costs will be deducted from the insurance deposit, taken at the time of hire
Damage to Hire Costumes
Any damage to any costume whilst out on hire will be considered a breach of hire agreement.
Replacement and repair costs will be deducted from the insurance deposit, taken at the time of hire.
Please note that one of the major contributors to damaged costumes is cigarette ash burn holes
The cost of replacement of missing items is the responsibility of the hirer and if this exceeds the deposit will be payable by the hirer within 30 days of the hire being returned and costs agreed with the company. The cost of repair of any damaged costume is solely the responsibility of the hirer and payable on receipt of an invoice from the company or at the time of repair, whichever is agreed between both parties.
Alternativity hirers may ask permission to have damage repaired by a professional before returning the costume to the company to avoid the loss of their security deposit
Flameproofing of Hire Costumes for stage use
Any costume hired from us can be flameproofed to meet the requirements of a theatrical premises and risk assessments where a naked flame or pyrotechnic will be in use
We use Flamebar flameproofing for our costumes
Additional notice of approximately 2/3 working days will be required prior to a hire being dispatched for flameproofing to be completed at a cost of £3 per outfit/garment.
Loss of Hire Costumes
Any partial or complete loss of a costume will remain the full responsibility of the customer.
The customer will be fully responsible for any shortfall to replace the costume should the insurance deposit, taken at the time of hire, not be sufficient to cover costs
Theatrical Threads reserves the right to change or amend these terms and conditions at any time and without giving prior notice
